A few years back, the world was fascinated with zombies. You saw zombies everywhere… hell, even Comic heroes were zombiefied and left to prowl on the meek and innocent. Zombie this, zombie that and then have some more Zombie sprinkled all over your morning coffee. You know what they say, a Zombie a day, keeps the necrophiliacs away!

Prince of Persia is a great popcorn film if not taken too seriously. Based on the video game, the film does a pretty job of bringing the world of the game to life.

Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal), the adopted son of the King of Persia and thus a rogue prince battles it out with pretty much everyone in Persia to save the Time Dagger and his lost honor. Giving the prince an attractive companion is Princess Tamina (Gemma Arterton) who knows a lot more about the mystical time powers of the dagger and how it has to be guarded for the safety of the universe.

It’s an age-old question, which isn’t to say that it has been around for a very long time, but rather it is to say that it is more a question of our age, the era in which we live. The question, I should add, isn’t actually a question, it’s more a scenario and it goes a-little something like this:

You (yes, you, the reader, with the hair and the clothes, assuming you have both of those things) like a work of art. Could be a band, a movie, a book, whatever. You like it and therefore you tell your friends that you like it and they should listen to/watch/read this work so you can all appreciate it in a grand adventure of shared cultural experiences (not entirely unlike the plot of The Goonies).

Happy Friday the 13th from BlankTV!

We normally release our video premieres on Tuesdays but our friends The Dopamines insisted that we do this new one today. Why not? Their new record is called Expect the Worst and Friday the 13th is an ‘expect the worse’ kinda day, especially if you’re a hormone-addled camp counselor.

“Why do you think nobody’s ever tried to be a superhero before?”

In 1988 when Guns N’ Roses debut album, Appetite For Destruction, topped the Billboard 200 chart and the band’s seminal single “Sweet Child O’ Mine” did the same on Billboard’s Hot 100, being a member of the hard rocking Los Angeles band should have been a dream come true. But for the band’s drummer, Steven Adler, his fantasy reality was already turning into a nightmare. Guns N’ Roses muse, “Mr. Brownstone,” a.k.a. heroin had moved in, and by 1990 it had robbed Adler of his career, health and wealth.
