This Thursday, October 2nd on SuicideGirls Radio, hosts Moxi and Chloe Suicide will be joined by the bastard future love children of Alanis Morissette and Weezer aka LA indie-alt-pop-rock band Ramonda Hammer.

You can listen – and watch – the world’s leading BYOB radio show live on Thursday nights from 6 til 8 PM at our new state-of-the-art all digital home: TradioV.com.

If you have questions for the SG Radio crew or our guests, you can call in during the live broadcast at: 1-855-TRV-inLA (1-855-878-4652)

About Ramonda Hammer

On a warm mid-90s night, Alanis Morissette and Weezer got super drunk and were dared by their friends to make out, but they were all like “no way man, we’re just friends.” They did it anyway and there was totally hella chemistry, and so they banged and had a baby and named it Ramonda Hammer. They then gave the little band child a Pavement, Cranberries, and No Doubt CD, and some interesting guitar pedals, and teleported it into the future, more specifically the year 2014.

Ramonda Hammer is now thriving in Los Angeles, CA as an indie-alt-pop-rock band made up of singer/guitar player Devin Davis, lead guitarist Randy Felten, bassist Andy Hengl, and drummer Colin Knight. They rock hard, however, the music is beautifully bittersweet and Davis’ emotional, self-loathing, lovelorn lyrics resonate with anyone who is like “I SOMETIMES DON’T FUCKING LIKE MYSELF OR THE WAY LIFE WORKS AND IT MAKES ME SAD”, and if that is you, then you should have a listen.

Just check them out regardless. They have a music video for the song “Chaotic” that will be released this week and premiering on SG Radio! You can also see Ramonda Hammer live at the Voodoo Lounge on October 12th at 9:00 for $5. Please check out their Facebook and Twitter for more show dates and info on downloading their music. If you don’t end up liking Ramonda Hammer, then you’re the minority and someone somewhere will probably do whatever they can to fight for your rights as a minority but you know, they can only do so much.

Scattered Hamlet
“It’s honky tonk metal, like you took a handful of cheap trucker speed and headed out on the warpath” is how Scattered Hamlet describes their musical style. Created to capture the essence of growing up in the country while giving nods to the original classic rock and outlaw country pioneers, Scattered Hamlet is one part Lynyrd Skynyrd and Molly Hatchet featuring heavy rock elements from Motorhead to Down. According to Sleaze Roxx, “Scattered Hamlet’s influences range from southern rock to groove metal to doom metal with the attitude of punk rock.”

With humble origins all across the US and a relentless touring schedule of 100+ shows a year visiting 40 + states, the band makes no apologies for the equal love of Harley Davidsons, honky tonks, Les Pauls, Marshalls, shotguns and classic American symbolism. There debut full length album, Skeleton Dixie, was produced by two time grammy nominated Jason Donaghy who’s credits include Rob Zombie, John 5 and the Murder Dolls and mastered by legend Howie Weinberg who’s credits include: Pantera, Slayer, White Zombie and Danzig. The band has amassed a strong underground following called “Hell Riders” who maintain their own “chapters” (fan clubs) independent of the band.

Scattered Hamlet has made two appearances at Rocklahoma being selected as one of the top 5 second stage acts (2012/2014), Van’s Warped Tour, A2 Festival (Michigan), SXSW, done product demonstrations at the Ana- heim NAMM show and has toured as direct artist support for Jason Charles Miller (Godhead) and Gypsyhawk (Metalblade) on full US Tours. The band also independently headlines US tours and has supported Supersuckers, Michale Graves (Misfits), Jackyl, Alien Ant Farm, 12 Stones, Wayland, Genitorturers, Texas Hippie Coalition, Tracii Guns and the Alex Skolnick Trio in addition to being featured at festivals alongside Black Label Society, Down, Kill Devil Hill, Kid Rock, Mushroomhead, Taproot, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Andrew WK and Hed Pe.

She then attended graduate school at the University of Chicago, enrolled in a doctoral program in modern Jewish studies with an emphasis on violence and identity in post–World War II Hebrew literature. In Chicago, her passion for filmmaking was reignited by Fire Escape Films, a community of student filmmakers. After working on numerous short films and experimenting with Super 16 and old-school Moviola editing, she ultimately abandoned her PhD and moved to Los Angeles to pursue film full time. In Los Angeles, Leigh worked at Leonardo DiCaprio’s production company, Appian Way, and at Misher Films in both development and production. Leigh and her writing partner, Phil Graziadei, met as undergraduates at NYU. They’ve been friends for over a decade and writing partners since 2005. They’ve written numerous feature films together. Honeymoon is Leigh’s feature film directing debut.

About Barrio Tiger

Barrio Tiger is an L.A. based garage punk band from Echo Park with a rep to protect for delivering blistering live shows. After the demise of his beloved Juvee Skateshop, Calixto Hernandez was losing his mind. “There ain’t nothin’ to do!” he cried so he hunted down Jimmy James, former guitar slinger for kick ass rockers such as The Hangmen, The Comatones, and the Masons. Together they formed the nucleus of what would eventually become Barrio Tiger. Rounding out the current lineup is Montebello’s hard hitting favorite son, Mark Benquechea, and DTLA MC5 acolyte, Eligh Macias on boomstick.

The band has shared the stage with Boots Electric (Jesse Hughes from Eagles Of Death Metal), The Fleshtones, Red Fang, The Upper Crust, The Humpers, The Hangmen, Scream, Crystal Antlers, Deadbolt, Fatso Jetson, Early Man and the legendary Mike Watt, among others. Recent festivals and shows included slots at SXSW, the Eagle Rock Music Festival, Reno’s Sleazefest, the Las Vegas Shakedown, Echo Park Rising (an answer to the Sunset Junction fiasco), and the San Diego Music Thing festival in addition to hard touring up and down the west coast as well as the south and southwest.

About Charming Liars

Charming Liars is a British/American rock band, based in Los Angeles, California. Originally founded by lead vocalist, Charlie Cosser, guitarist, Karnig Manoukian, and bassist, Mike Kruger, in London, England.

As teens growing up in London, England, the trio of talented musicians and songwriters that make up the core of this dynamic new rock band were shaken to their young souls by the crunching guitar riffs and memorable melodies that came out of the hard rock capital of the world, namely, Los Angeles.

The impact on these impressionable music lovers was so powerful that they took the profoundly bold step of pulling up stakes, waving goodbye to the security of friends, family and a university education to follow their dream of becoming the next big thing by moving to Los Angeles. With a grip on new “hometown” Los Angeles, and their sights aimed at the rest of the world, Charming Liars are set to raise the stakes.

To stay current with all things Charming Liars, be sure to follow them on Facebook, Twitter, and their official site.
