“I had no deathly ambition to become super famous. I just want to work. I want to be able to put a roof over my head, and make great films, and also create a path for me to make movies as a director.”

Friendship and a strong work ethic are core values for Sarah Connor Chronicles star Lena Headey. The Bermuda-born actress, who was raised in the working-class town of Huddersfield in the North of England, has come a long way, but she remains very down to earth.

Since her film debut opposite Jeremy Irons in Waterland back in 1992, Headey has built up a lengthy list of credits. Her breakout role didn’t arrive until 2006 however, when she played the heroic Queen of Sparta in director Zack Snyder‘s highly stylized retelling of the story of the Spartan’s epic battle with Persia. Having worked to protect her husband, the King of Sparta, in 300, Headey was then called on to protect her on-screen son, John Connor, from the Terminator in The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

While working on the Fox TV series, Headey forged a close bond with special effects guru Robert Hall (whose credits also include Buffy, Angel and Pineapple Express) and his partner in slime, producer and actress Bobbi Sue Luther. So when Robert and Bobbi decided to branch out and make their own blood and guts genre horror flick, Headey was more than happy to jump on board.

Though made on a beyond-low budget that was supplemented by friends and favors, Laid To Rest, which was the first film to be shot on Panasonic’s new HPX-3000 high-def DV camcorder, has a polished analog look despite its bargain digital price tag. Shot on location at a deserted psychiatric hospital in Maryland, the film exemplifies the DIY methodology of Hollywood’s next generation filmmakers.

With Season 2 of Sarah Connor coming to a close, and the fate of a follow up season still hanging in the balance, Headey ultimately hopes to join their ranks. Over the past couple of years, during downtime on the SCC set, the actress worked on her own project, which she describes as a “quirky ensemble comedy.” Having penned and prepped it, and with The Chronicles behind her for the time being, she now hopes to direct and produce it. If all goes Headey’s way, she’ll soon be the one making calls to friends for favors.

I caught up Headey while she was enjoying a rare moment of rest, surrounded by her dogs, on the couch at her Los Angeles home. [..]

[Adan Jodorowsky as the Young Fenix in Santa Sangre]

Adan Jodorowsky’s life story reads like a plot from one of his father’s surrealist masterpieces. The son of Chilean filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky and Mexican actress Valerie Trumblay, Adan was born in France and raised in an exceedingly Bohemian household, where standing on the table and peeing in the soup was considered a legitimate form of expression rather than an act worthy of being sent to your room.

At the tender age of ten, he won the prestigious Saturn Award for Best Performance by a Younger Actor for his portrayal of the Young Fenix in his father’s 1989 psychedelic horror epic, Santa Sangre. Adan continued on a cinematic path, with a string of roles in front of and behind the camera, while developing a career in parallel as a singer, songwriter, and musician.

Having achieved rock star status in his native France and throughout South America, Adan has recorded his first album in English, which was released in the United States on April 1st. The record, entitled ADA, is a therapeutic endeavor and a homage to a ghost that he finally hopes to lay to rest when the album runs its course.

SuicideGirls recently spoke via Skype to Adan, who was calling in from his home studio in Paris. Surrounded by beloved items from his childhood, such as a mariachi doll and a 4-track tape recorder bought for him by his mother, Adan spoke to us about his past and future from his preferred place –– the present.

About Steve Prue

Steve Prue is a simple man – he likes coffee, big hair and instant film. Self-taught and hella-amusing, he manages to avoid a day job and gets to work with interesting people every day. Steve’s work can be seen in magazines such as Penthouse, Playboy, ZINK!, Auxiliary, Rebel Ink, Urban Ink, Skin&Ink, Inked, Inked Girls, Village Voice, Time Out NYC, CLUB, FOX, Velvet and other magazines in that “special” rack behind the counter at 7-11, as well as on SuicideGirls.com.

Having attended 15 schools by the time he graduated college (North Carolina State – Go Wolfpack!), Steve has a bit of a traveling jones and can be found splitting his time between Boston (wife & cats), Brooklyn (rent controlled apartment & his Ducati) and Los Angeles (lots of naked tattooed women).

Current projects involve working on a book of dirty Polaroids, finding the perfect cup of diner coffee, telling everyone how AWESOME it was to work with a circus elephant, and as usual, continuing to avoid working a day job.

Personal Quote: “The bigger the hair, the closer to God.”

You can see more of his work here at Teamrockstarimages.com and TeamrockstarNSFW.com, and follow him @tmronin.

About Tita Suicide

Tita does a lot of things. Getting naked on the Internet is just one of them. The self described “professional traveler, cupcake galavanter, fitness fan, and pantless wonder” clearly has varied interests, which far from being at odds, are in fact the very glue that holds her together.

A long time professional athlete, Tita’s lifestyle is a balance of discipline, and complete madness. From photo shoots, to producing video and viral content, Tita works in front of, and behind the cameras and computers, as a member of Team Rockstar with Steve Prue. She also helps to run events for SuicideGirls, and other alternative brands, mentors models and athletes, and runs a successful blog over at www.cupcakedujour.ca

Tita currently resides in Vancouver, British Columbia, but this pint sized ball of fury can often be found at conventions throughout the United States, and Canada. You can follow along with her adventures via social media, where she goes by “Cupcakedujour” for obvious reasons.

Tita’s plans for the future include continuing to contribute online and print content to media outlets, lifestyle and fitness brands, and to find a puppy partner in crime for her chihuahua Zapato.

But first, she’s off to Ink N Iron where she will assist Steve as they shoot content for Rebel Ink, Urban Ink, and various other publications. Tita will also stop in to say hello to her favourite SuicideGirls, work with The Blonde Locks, and shoot with notable photographers and artists based in LA. As usual it will be a whirlwind trip, and she wouldn’t have it any other way.

You can see more of Tita on SuicideGirls and at cupcakedujour.ca. You can also get social with her on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Tumblr.

**UPDATE**

Fans from all over British Columbia headed to the Vancouver Convention Centre last weekend to heat things up at the city’s adult-only event. From lascivious lingerie, to bawdy toys and sexy seminars, the taboo show had something for everyone – including the Vancouver SuicideGirls!

Aadie (@aadielee), Ceres (@CeresSuicide), Cruella (@CruellaSuicide), Glitch, Harajuku (@HARAJUKUSUICIDE), Jacksons, Peatrie (@PeatrieSuicide), Parker, Rydell, and Tita (@Cupcakedujour) visited with friends and fans at booth 923, and blew up the internet with their tweets, posts, and texts using the official hashtag #SGCON2013

“Who’s excited for the Vancouver ‪#tabooshow tonight!? ‪#SGCON2013” – @CeresSuicide

“Cannot wait to join the ladies of ‪@SuicideGirls at ‪#taboosexshow this Saturday and Sunday! ‪#SGCON2013” – @PeatrieSuicide

The booth carried all of the site’s newest apparel, including the super cute booty shorts and “Fill In The Blank” tanks. The updated attire was received with the kind of enthusiasm that only a sex show can bring, as many patrons promptly changed into their SG swag right where they were standing! The girls encouraged patrons to snap photos of their new gear, and took some of their own too!

Saturday evening was capped off with a special SuicideGirls after party at Library Square, where the models, members and fellow convention attendees danced until the bar closed down.

“It was like a pub, meets aerobics, meets the SuicideGirls in there” – @Ave_Dogg

By Sunday the stories rolling into the booth were filled with fun, and sexy accounts of shopping, partying, and in at least one case – piercing.

“Hey Tita, thanks heaps for the tickets last night, woke up with a lot less cash, my nipple pierced and a bag full of goodies! X” – @ivoryboone

Safe to say the event was a big success, filled with experiences, that will be enjoyed for some time 😉
