The one thing I recall the most, from that time period, was the mass emphasis on internet anonymity. Parents, teachers, and sponsored commercials all warned of the dangers of using your real name or information online. For years it was common practice to sign up on every new website with a fake name, fake address, and if possible an email account that was only used to sign up for things.

I was in my car today, listening to my iPod while driving to the movies, and put on a play list I made that put all my favorite Seattle bands together. A little known Nirvana track that became popular a few years ago called “You Know You’re Right” popped on and it got me thinking back to April, 1994.
