Darrah de jour is a writer, actress, discerning model and philanthropist. As the Lifestyle Editor for Cool Hunt, Inc., an LA-based editorial press agency, Darrah spearheaded covers and features for top-selling women’s glossies in the realm of pop culture, global issues and the hottest spots to eat, shop and live. Those mags included international versions of Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Self, Elle, Fashion, W, and Esquire (including Esquire China’s landmark “Green” issue featuring Leonardo DiCaprio). Darrah has interviewed A-list celebrities (Woody Harrelson, Penelope Cruz and Taylor Momsen), Nobel Prize-winners, well known eco-and-animal-advocates and pop culturites. Her essays, fiction, and poetry have appeared in indie zines like LA2DAY, San Francisco’s Doorknobs & BodyPaint (website and print anthology), Lodestar Quarterly, and in anthologies by Alyson Books, InSight Out Books and Homofactus Press. Darrah’s monthly column, “Femme in the City” ran for a year and a half in LGBT Southern California’s dot Newsmagazine. Her articles have been syndicated throughout the U.S., Canada, Asia and Europe.
Darrah works freelance in the land of milk & honey, netting some cool fictional characters onto pages of her screenplay and novel, with her doggie Oscar Wilde faithfully by her side.
