As one twitter joker put it, it was either a horrible mistake or an act of media genius when the PR team behind former Britain’s Got Talent contestant Susan Boyle decided to launch her new album, Standing Ovation, with a very special #susanalbumparty.

However, since the folks at @SusanBoyleHQ have yet to comment on the intention behind the tweet, we can only take it at face value and offer our own standing ovation to the 51-year old Grammy-award winning singer for finally giving voice to her true passion.

Given that there’s apparently a daring SuicideGirl lurking within Susan Boyle, we’d like to offer her an honorary membership to SG, since we think she’ll feel right at home in our Ass Appreciation and Anal Sex groups.

“I think there is something about the camera that amplifies life.” – Andrew W.K.

Andrew W.K. has done many things in his life such as music, dating a hot rock star and getting punched in the face. But now he’’s totally done a 180 with his advice show on MTV2. It’s called Your Friend Andrew W.K. and now anyone in the world can email a letter into the show about any topic and if it gets selected Andrew will come to your home and work on that problem with you. Recent examples have been Tom, who has a college radio show and wants to know how he can make it kick ass. Another one was from Ed who spends most of his time babysitting his son Wyatt and reaches out to Andrew for help: he needs to “get out of the house” and relax with his pals.

Today is a sad day for all of us metal-heads. It was announced this afternoon that Mitch Lucker, the lead singer of Suicide Silence, had passed away this morning due to injuries that he sustained during a motorcycle accident that occurred on Halloween night.

His band mates posted on Facebook today saying:

“There’s no easy way to say this. Mitch passed away earlier this morning from injuries sustained during a motorcycle accident. This is completely devastating to all of us and we offer our deepest condolences to his family. He will be forever in our hearts.

R.I.P. Mitchell Adam Lucker – We Love You Brother”

It’s hard to believe that we will never get to toss each other around in a mosh-pit to the sound of his voice again, especially considering that he was still in his 20s.

Three pig squeals for a man never forgotten!

“Breee, breee, breee.”

Rest in Peace Mitch.

“You have to know who you are and where you are at all times and never lose track of that.” – Queen Latifah

After Will Smith, Queen Latifah is the only person to have crossed so successfully from hip-hop into movies and television. Even though Queen received her first Oscar nomination for her performance in 2002’’s Chicago, she still hasn’’t forgotten her music or comedy roots. Her next album is being released this month, her next big budget movie is Taxi with Jimmy Fallon, and her latest is a film she produced herself, The Cookout.

“If you get a quarter and scratch the Megadeth logo off the album it says Mustaine underneath it. Nothing changed one bit.”
– Dave Mustaine, Megadeth

Who the hell wasn’’t freaked out when Dave Mustaine got hurt and announced he was disbanding Megadeth? Just for the band to break up is bad enough, but then to know that Mustaine might never have played music again was scary. But luckily Mustaine rebounded and is now releasing, The System has Failed, Megadeth’’s final album even though none of the other guys from the band have contributed anything. That’’s mostly because this was originally set to be his solo album but because of label obligations it’’s now a Megadeth one.

“That feeling, that tingly feeling when somebody touches you and kisses you is the most incredible feeling you can ever get.”
– Chantal Claret

Chantal Claret is a very satisfied pleasure seeker. The Morningwood front lady, who admits she was once “a very naughty girl,” has just released the album she’s always wanted to make – The One, The Only… her solo debut – and is currently being gratified by a residency at the Hard Rock’s swanky Vinyl club in Las Vegas and by a husband (Jimmy Urine of Mndless Self Indulgence) whom she tells us is “one of the good ones.”

Her freshly minted music – which might come as quite a surprise to those used to the pop-infused rock of Morningwood – is perfect for Sin City, being a glamorous and gutsy mix of ‘60s inspired retro rock & soul.

A longtime friend of SuicideGirls, we thought is was about time we caught up with the sexy chanteuse and kick-ass woman’s woman. During the course of our conversation she shared her recipe for finding love, and spoke about the wonders of real women (with real asses) and the joy of making out.

“As long as we enjoy playing music together, then that’s what I want to do.”
– Gary Powell

The Libertines have had a tough time during the past couple of years. After breaking out with their first song, “What a Waster,” they quickly descended into a Behind the Music-like hell when their frontman Pete Doherty became a heavy drug addict, nearly causing the breakup of the band.

But that’s all behind them now; They’’re releasing their latest self-titled album and it’’s their best one yet. I got a chance to talk with Libertines drummer Gary Powell.
