Journalist David Seaman calls for a nationwide boycott of News Corporation, Fox News, and Fox Business Network following the channel’s cancellation of Judge Andrew Napolitano‘s prime-time show, Freedom Watch.

Judge Napolitano was one of the few mainstream television anchors covering NDAA, economic unrest, and political corruption. The cancellation of his show is a major blow to free speech in the mainstream media, and the final nail in the coffin of our bought and sold press. He’s one of the TRULY good ones, even though we don’t always agree with his libertarian take on things.



Disobedience is civil. Disobedience is called for. Support Judge Napolitano. Say no to fuax news. Cancel Fox News and Fox Business on your cable or satellite package.

When three teens stage an illegal public suicide, Haggerty suspects their deaths may have been murders. Now his race is on to uncover proof and prevent a nationwide epidemic of copycat suicides. Trouble is, for the first time in history, an entire generation might just decide they’re better off dead.

Kevin Smith is used to working a crowd. His forte career-wise is really as a public speaker at his live Q&A shows. His movies made him a name and he still makes them. Well, at least he’s making one more. But his bread and butter has been live shows. He can take a question and spin it into a 20 minute anecdote and keep the crowd laughing along the way.

The Television Critics Association could have been a tough room for Smith. An organization of veteran critics from the print days of newspapers, they gather twice a year to work, not to humor performers. So when Smith had a new AMC television series to present to the TCA, he took the mic and answered questions. He joked about how he’s enjoying talking to the TV press, because they don’t hate him yet like the film press do.

It has been a tumultuous year for Smith in the film world. He premiered Red State at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2011, and then auctioned the film off to himself to take the film on the road and self-distribute. After saying on Twitter that he would not do press or screen the film for press, many of Smith’s loyal followers began lashing out, even more so after the “auction.” Yet Smith has been on the road with Red State, giving Q&As at sold out shows and the film is now available on VOD, Netflix and DVD/Blu-ray.

Comic Book Men is a reality series set in Smith’s New Jersey comic book store, Jay and Silent Bob’s Secret Stash. The dialogue between the staffers behind the counter may feel very similar to Smith’s movie Clerks, but he’s not writing any of it. It’s all real. After his TCA session, I found Smith in the hall of the Langham Hotel in Pasadena and I asked him for a follow-up interview. We ended up doing a full interview, ironic for someone who threatened to stop doing press. Our talk veered away from the TV show as a follow-up on his new distribution venture lead to spiritual life lessons, which only underscores the point that a conversation with Smith can really be about anything and go anywhere. It all ties into the voice that is making his final film, Hit Somebody, and launched the new TV venture Comic Book Men.

Fresh from my week-long trip to New York, I’m back in South Florida – and seething. Here’s the Top 10 reasons why…

1. When I fly, the choice is “microwave oven” or multiple full-body gropedowns. I’ve flown for many years, and only recently is this happening to travelers on a regular basis. It’s unconstitutional and scary.

2. The President, in collusion with a fascist Congress, literally signed away a large part of our Bill of Rights, ending our right to due process, trial, attorney, etc and opening the door to outright military dictatorship.

3. This has received very little media coverage.

4. When I report on this, I receive personal attacks and all kinds of online harassment.

5. Congress also tried very hard to push through fascist Internet censorship bills, which would curtail online freedom and innovation around the world. Now they’re trying to pass similar legislation under the guise of a different bill name. No one will notice this time.

6. When people here in the U.S. protest this corruption and total tyrannical insanity, they are met with “less than lethal” rubber-coated shotgun bullets, tear gas, and other chemical agents. I’ve heard people say some protesters have been covered in so much chemical agent it has led to seizures and other serious health problems. Protesters have also allegedly been forced to urinate on each other, and have been kept in inhumane conditions for hours.

8. Congress thinks its OK to literally profit from insider knowledge, and have been blatantly doing so, at a time when many Americans are out of work, in foreclosure, and genuinely hurting.
