[Jami Suicide in Marilyn]

I remember when I was a eight, my twelve year old brother ‘borrowed’ our dad’s 25th Anniversary Playboy (January 1979). When he opened the page, there she was, sprawled out on a red velvet tapestry. Her blue eyes glistened and her figure was simply marvelous –– almost perfect. She had this gorgeous, long, golden hair flowing down her back. Her left hand was poised behind her head covering her left eye, her right hand was down by her legs, which where both were bent at the knees. Needless to say this image was something special, and it ingrained itself in my subconscious. I was too captivated by her image to actually read any of the accompanying text.

Every week we ask the ladies and gentlemen of the social web to show us their finest ink in celebration of Tattoo Tuesday; our favorite submission from Twitter and Tumblr each wins a free 3 month membership to SuicideGirls.com.

I guess we still have Comic Con on the brain, because this week’s winners are both incredible geek tattoos. Check them out below.

From Twitter:

@VincentAuletta has a xenomorph from the Alien films taking up residence on his arm.

From Tumblr:

subsammich‘s Boba Fett is just an outline and is already one of the coolest tattoos we’ve ever seen.

If you haven’t won this week, don’t forget that you can enter each week until you do, so good luck next Tuesday, and happy inking!

A few things to remember:

  • You have to be 18 to qualify.
  • The tattoo has to be yours…that means permanently etched on your body.
  • On Twitter we search for your entries by looking up the hashtag #TattooTuesday, so make sure you include it in your tweet!

[Above: Hezza Suicide in Melancolia]

SG / Artist Name: Hezza Suicide a.k.a. Majo Rey

Mission Statement: Having experimented with other kinds of clothes I began my lingerie line in 2004. I was always a lingerie consumer, but couldn’t find nice things over here (I live in South América). After working in a big factorywhich made swimwear, I decide to start with my personal own line, and launched my brand Majo Rey. What I do, or want to transmit to the people who consume the brand, is the spirit of being young and sexy. It’s important to feel comfortable and sexy at the same time. The brand has a lot of myself in it; It’s for powerful, independent women with a rock & roll spirit.

There is in every madman a misunderstood genius whose idea, shining in his head, frightened people, and for whom delirium was the only solution to the strangulation that life had prepared for him
– Antonin Artaud

The word “genius” is bandied about a lot in the fashion world, given, as it is, to the superlative. However, I would barely hesitate to apply it in the case of one man, a fashion superstar, a man who could be said to have been licked by lightning before he got burnt. I am talking, ladies and gentlemen, about a man named John Galliano.

People who don’t know about fashion will have heard of Dior. Dominating the proud couture tradition of Paris (the most important of the four big fashion centers, although we shan’t tell London, Milan or New York about that), its eponymous founder pioneered a daring New Look, selling a tangible chic to a clientele that had survived two World Wars and longed for a suitable way to give two fingers to rationing and drawn-on stocking seams. Just to give you some idea of Christian Dior’s resounding success in this field, by 1949 Dior made up 5% of France’s total export revenue.

What Suicide Girls are putting on – and taking off – this summer…

There’s nothing twee about sporting blooms when you do it with balls. It takes talent to wear flowers with ‘tude. But in the right situation petals can provide the perfect juxtaposition to an otherwise punk rock look.
