ICYMI: Here’s our August 1st pre-DefCon show featuring Marni Kinrys (Wing Girl), Vince In The Bay (Blog Talk Radio), Dell Cameron (VICE), and Brewin and Moon Suicide. Interweb trouble has a habit of following Vince around and this show was no exception. [GoGo Suicide in The Twelfth]

GoGo is a sexy Italian model that is also into video games. She’s also a movie buff and hardcore Game of Thrones fan, so it’s safe to say that GoGo actually loves all sorts of nerdy things.

Is there a story behind your SG nickname?

There sort of isn’t one. When I first applied for the site I had to pick a nickname and GoGo is what came to mind. It sounded short and cute and easy to remember!

How long have you been modeling?

Since I applied for SuicideGirls in 2004.

You have a ton of really cool tattoos. Is there any special symbolism behind them?

Not really, I mean, besides the name of my dog on my ankle and Rain Dogs across my knuckles over Tom Waits, the rest is just ideas of things that I like / inspire me. I usually just give a rough idea to the artist and let him or her do the rest.

What are some of your favorite video games?

The Silent Hill saga has a special place in my heart. Other than that, I love Diablo 3, LA Noire, and Call of Duty.

Do you play games online much?

I used to be really into Diablo 3 and would play for hours every day. But the servers are so horrible, always down, and always laggy, so eventually I just kinda gradually gave up on it. Call of Duty is a game I like to play sporadically, like when I am really frustrated so I can just shoot some motherfuckers.

Which class do you prefer in Diablo 3?

Wizard all the way! I’m definitely a disintegrate/archon combo wizard.

Ever try to make money on the auction house?

Not real money, only gold to buy more equipment with. I never got that far as wanting to spend hundreds of real dollars for it. Maybe I would have been tempted once or twice if the servers were more reliable, but alas…

What’s your console of choice?

PS3 and desktop 🙂

Do you think the Silent Hill franchise has gotten better or worse over time?

I think it had ups and downs. Some of them were great, some not so great, but overall it’s the universe of it that really gets to you, you know? 1 and 3 are my favorites.

How/when did you first get into playing video games?

Gosh I don’t know. When my parents gave me a Sega Master System for Christmas when I was little, I guess!

Judging by the fact you list “Winterfell” as your hometown, I take it you’re a Game of Thrones fan?

Huge! I wouldn’t know where to begin! Last year I did a tribute shoot that came out super cool. It was the “grown up version” of Arya Stark. You should check it out!

So where did you really grow up?

Italy, books, and the internet 🙂

Which is better, the books or the TV show?

This is a hard question! I LOVE the books and at the same time I LOVE the show. I would instinctively pick the book because there’s just more of everything, and you can spend months reading them and being absorbed in the whole imaginarium –– but they sure are doing a great job with the TV version, too. The TV show has the potential to be on air for a long time, whereas the books are being published too far apart and it’s such a long, painful wait!

Favorite character?

Tyrion and Arya. Bran seems to be heading in a very badass direction too, whereas Jon isn’t really as interesting as he once was. But given the huge cliffhanger of the last book, I expect greater things for him to come. *SPOILER ALERT* (I just don’t want him to really be dead). I have to say since Theon became Reek, he also started to really interest me.

Have you gotten a chance to try the GoT RPG that was released back in May?

I haven’t! I feel like between the books and the TV show I have enough GoT in my life if that makes sense!

I understand you’re also somewhat of a movie buff. If you could make any movie into a video game, what would it be?

I am, that’s another subject I could talk about forever! Let me think… Perhaps an Oldboy inspired game where you wake up in a room you don’t know why and you have to solve the mystery and riddles etc. Hmm that sounds like Silent Hill a bit doesn’t it? 🙂

For more of GoGo find her on Facebook, Twitter and SuicideGirls, and be sure to checkout her Etsy store!

Who in the hell didn’t already believe Rob Ford was on crack anyway?

I’m not sure it would even make the Top 10 Most Ridiculous Things Toronto’s Mayor, Evil Chris Farley, Has Done. It’d explain some of them, maybe…

But an allegation made based on a video nobody has been able to produce to date does not, necessarily, a crackhead mayor make.

Late May 16, New York City-based news blog Gawker, posts the story, “For Sale: A Video of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford Smoking Crack Cocaine.”

In the story, John Cook writes about flying to Toronto to hang out with shady Somali drug dealers who showed him cell-phone-shot video footage of, apparently, Rob Ford huffing on a crack pipe. Cook did not return with the video, but said shady types wanted six figures for it.

So he wrote about what he saw. He doesn’t say it could be Ford in this video he cannot produce, instead he asserts it categorically is:

“The man in the video is Rob Ford. It is well-lit, clear. Ford is seated, in a room in a house. In one hand is a clear, glass pipe. The kind with a big globe and two glass cylinders sticking out of it. In the other hand is a lighter. A slurred voice off-camera is ranting about Canadian politics in what sounds like an attempt to goad Ford.

“‘Pierre Trudeau was a faggot!’ is the one phrase the lodges in my mind. Ford, pipe in one hand and lighter in the other, is laughing, and mildly protesting at the sacrilege. He seems to keep trying to light the pipe, but keeps stopping to laugh. He is red-faced and sweaty, heaving with each breath.

“Finally, he finds his moment and lights up. He inhales.”

Later late May 16, the Toronto Star posts breaking news, reporting Gawker reported the story.

Later still, late May 16, the Star posts new breaking news, stating two of their reporters — Kevin Donovan and Robyn Doolittle — have seen the video. Two and a half weeks earlier, in fact.

They don’t have the video either.

So they write about what they saw. They play the accusation a little safer. It could be Ford, sure looks like him:

“It appears to show Ford in a room, sitting in a chair, wearing a white shirt, top buttons open, inhaling from what appears to be a glass crack pipe. Ford is incoherent, trading jibes with an off-camera speaker who goads the clearly impaired mayor by raising topics including Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau and the Don Bosco high school football team Ford coaches…

“…Throughout the video Ford’s eyes are half-closed. He lolls back in his chair, sometimes waving his arms around erratically. He raises a lighter in his hand at several points and moves it in a circle motion beneath the glass bowl of the pipe, then inhales deeply.

“The reporters were allowed to watch and listen to the video three times. After, both reporters separately made written notes of what they saw and heard. Both reporters, prior to watching the video, studied numerous city-hall-related videos of Ford and, to the best of the reporter’s abilities, they separately concluded the man in the video was Ford.”

To recap:

Gawker basically runs with “Can’t prove it but he done it — I seen it!”

Meanwhile, the Star basically retorts: “Samesies. But first!”

Later than later still, late May 16, folks from Gawker and the Star and concerned Pajama People on behalf of both argue who should or shouldn’t be calling the story exclusive — basically, who saw harder this thing neither party can produce.

Also. They agree to disagree on which Trudeau “is a faggot.”

The Star went ahead and ran it front page, morning of May 17. A story about a video they do not have.

Then ran react stories all day May 17, asking important folks what they think about a video they haven’t seen.

End of day, the Star’s website has an entire section dedicated to its dozens of stories about this video scandal they can’t prove.

Given the Star’s folks claim they saw the video May 3 and Gawker’s guy says he started his hunt a week and a half later it seems likely the Star was sitting on it until proof they could present presented itself.

When someone else suddenly made the story public it seems likely they panicked and unloaded what they had.

Other news outlets play chase, writing about the video they not only don’t have, but also haven’t seen.

Meanwhile, Gawker is trying to crowdfund six figures to buy the video. They call it a crackstarter.

Pride in journalism.

It’s not that I do not believe there’s a video of Rob Ford smoking crack — it strikes me as entirely plausible there’s a video of Rob Ford smoking crack.

Oh, to be the man to top the Toronto mayor who used his mayoral might to declare war on the weather, hung out with biker gangs for photo ops and once expressed to reporters his fear Kenyans would turn him into soup.

(Note: See Mad Mel Lastman)

Ford is that man. That silly, silly and well-documented man. And writing it’s because he might be a crackhead and calling it news is not much different than writing about snow in winter and calling it news.

No, it’s not that. We do that.

It’s that professional media outlets are now the better bit of a week in, reporting the video exists without the ability to prove the video exists. Yeah, it’s relevant, and on Day One, sure, I will take a person entrusted with the truth at their word. Day Three or Day Six or Day Nine? I’ll need a little more than pinky swears.

The further removed from Day One we become, still having no video, the less credible the people claiming there is a video seem.

The Star knew that — I would assume that’s why they were sitting on the story until Gawker threw down.

They wanted the video. Or something that proves the existence of the video.

Because there needs to be a video.

Otherwise it’s shoddy journalism — there’s little point pulling the trigger before the gun’s loaded. Reporters ask Ford for comment first thing, May 17. Ford calls the story “ridiculous,” says it is just the Star attacking him, as is their rep to do, gets into his car and is gone.

That’s all he has to do, because there is no video — not one that matters.

The only video that matters is the one that can be produced, and that video does not yet exist — it might never exist.

Unless, of course, Gawker’s crackstarter hits $200K.

And then, then all of those dollars have to be delivered to shady Somali drug dealers and I’m sure that’ll go smashingly well and we’ll see a video of Toronto’s Mayor Rob Ford smoking crack straight away.

Iron Man 3 has already grossed over a billion dollars. Pulling in roughly $285 million here in the states, it’s overseas that Iron Man 3 has been a real hit. International sales have passed $664 million dollars. Iron Man premiered a week early overseas, and it played in 79% of the foreign markets. In its first weekend internationally, it grossed over $198 million, beating the Avengers record. Domestically, Iron Man had the second biggest opening weekend ever bringing in $174 million, behind the Avengers ($204 million). But, despite the massive numbers, Iron Man 3 has been met with incredibly mixed reviews.

Marvel and Disney are raking in a fortune with these superhero movies, and now the heroes want a bigger piece of the pie. Iron Man actor, Robert Downey Jr. is currently renegotiating with Disney. He’s not the only actor wanting a larger pay day, many of the Avengers actors are seeking to renegotiate before signing on for Avengers 2. While the cast is seeking more money from the movies, director Joss Whedon has posted a blog on his site to correct some misinformation about his own payday for the Avengers.

I was going to let it slide, but I’ve got this sour taste in my mouth. (Mmmm, lemonade!). Some facts are not facts. I’m not going to go into the whole thing, but jeepers, I’m not getting $100 mil on Avengers 2. If I were, I would come on this site and laugh and laugh and laugh. I’m not making Downey money. I’m making A LOT, which is exciting. I’m not pretending to be a poor farmer, an Everyman, an ANYman. But that number is nuts. A few other things about me that have been “reported” that people should take with a grain of salt:

That I throw wild Hollywood parties where everyone is naked and dancing and wild and I remember to serve enough snacks.

That I can get a movie greenlit by sighing and staring into the middle distance.

That I ate a unicorn and made it winter for three years.

That I “can write.”

Well, that’s a load off. Sorry to get so personal — the whole thing’s a bit tawdry. But honestly, it bugged me. I’m off for a nice juicy steak. There’s a place downtown that does it with rosemary butter, it tastes just like unico — like a steak.

BYE-ee! J.

Avengers 2 might be having some negotiating trouble with old members, but Marvel’s plans moving forward also include a new lineup. Rumor is that Whedon is seeking to write the Scarlet Witch and her twin brother Quicksilver in to Avengers 2, and there are whispers that Marvel is looking to cast Saoirse Ronan in the role of Scarlet Witch. Whether Saoirse gets the part or not, the helps to give us an idea of the kind of actress they have in mind.

The new Marvel series, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is set to go. The first teaser trailer has been released ending with a reminder #CoulsonLives. The series core cast has been filled out, and Clark Gregg is returning as Agent Coulson. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is set to premier in the coming fall season.

A new trailer for Thor: The Dark World has been released as Marvel moves forward with their ‘Phase 2’. Thor 2 premiers in November of this year. Captain America is the next movie up after Thor, and Captain America will be joined by some classic heroes for the journey. Anthony Mackie will be playing the Falcon and is set to be in more than half the movie. Robert Redford will also be filling a major role as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Alexander Pierce. The most exciting rumor of Marvel’s casting during ‘Phase 2’ however, is that the tenth Doctor Who, David Tennant may be cast as the gun blazing master tactician Rocket Raccoon.

As Doctor Who moves toward their 50th Anniversary, a new executive producer has been found for the show. Brian Minchin, who has worked in the past on the UK Torchwood, will be taking the role of executive producer, working alongside show frontrunner Steven Moffat.

Star Trek: Into Darkness is moving into theaters this week. The very suspenseful third and final trailer was released for the film. Finally, the great debate over which Spock would win between Nimoy and Quinto is over. It’s embedded inside a commercial trying to sell Audi’s, but it’s nevertheless well worth the watch.

Ender’s Game is moving into theaters on the first of November this year. The first full length trailer for the movie has been released and is appropriately narrated by Harrison Ford. The film was directed by Gavin Hood and stars Asa Butterfield as the title character, Ender.

Comedy Central has a new late night talk show starring the Nerdists’ Chris Hardwick. The show is being co-produced by Funny or Die and will be filling the air slot immediately after The Colbert Report.

[Annasthesia (pictured with Phecda) in Playtime]

This week’s SuicideGirls Gamer Of The Week is Annasthesia Suicide. I spoke to Annathesia about her favorite video games and asked for an insider tip on how guys can find a gamer girlfriend.

What made you choose the nickname “Annasthesia?”

I thought it would be clever to take a word that sounded like it could also have a name in it, and play on that. So “Anna” plus “Anesthesia” equaled “Annasthesia.”

How many tattoos and piercings do you have?

Well, I have the tops of my feet tattooed, the back of my neck, my chest, ribs, left forearm, and the makings of an eventual sleeve on my right arm. As far as piercings I’ve only had my lip, monroe, tongue, and belly button pierced. I temporarily donned a back corset piercing at my first Hell City. I think it was 20 piercings total.

Hell City?

Hell City Tattoo Convention. It’s one of the big events I look forward to each year now.

Which spot is the most painful to get tattooed?

So far my ribs have put every other spot to shame. The tops of the feet weren’t great and my chest has had its less than pleasant moments, but my ribs just sucked.

If you were to get one tattoo from a video game, such as a logo or symbol, what would it be?

I always have and still plan to get some Pokémon themed tattoo. I haven’t decided what yet, but it will happen. I like the idea of an 8-bit Togepi.

What are some of your other favorite games?

I’m the biggest Borderlands fan I know. I could play those into oblivion. Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 are great guilty pleasures. I also love all Zelda games. I replay Ocarina of Time on my 3DS whenever I travel.

Who is your favorite character in Borderlands?

Now it’s Tiny Tina, without a doubt. I adore her, Mushy Snugglebites and Felicia Sexopants. Any girl who spends her spare time filling stuffed animals with high grade explosives is top notch in my book! Before her, it was probably be Claptrap or Scooter, and, though he only got briefly mentioned in the sequel, I have a spot in my heart for Butt Stallion as well.

What about favorite gun?

The one that’s going to do the most damage! I almost always go with a Maliwan. Elemental weapons are the way to go. Melt someone’s face off! And usually long range sniper rifles, unless I’m hunting zombies, then an automatic shotgun.

What is the best Pokémon video game in your opinion?

I think every Pokémon fan is a fan of the originals. So I’d have to say it’s a close tie between Red/Blue and Fire Red/Leaf Green, because seeing the original with all new graphics was just tits.

Where does Pokémon Snap fit into things?

I’m probably in the minority, but I love Pokémon Snap. I still have my copy for my N64 and a copy I downloaded onto my Wii. I still play both. I may have a Poké-problem, haha!

Say you were in charge of developing the very next Pokémon video game. What would you added or do differently?

Well, my biggest issues with the newer games is that they seem to have gotten really lazy with the Pokémon themselves, while focusing on how visually intriguing they can make the new environments. Seriously, Trubbish? The trash bag Pokémon? I want better Pokémon and eviler enemies.

Is it true that you can’t ignore Gary Oak’s girth?

Very true. It’s undeniable. And, let’s face it, Gary Oak is the silver-haired fox Anderson Cooper of the Pokémon world. Do you even want to deny his girth? The answer is no, no you do not.

What is the longest you have ever played a game in one sitting and which game was it?

Oh, wow! I’d probably have more impressive numbers here if I played MMORPGs, but I know I’ve spent at least 12 straight hours on both Borderlands and Pokémon respectively. I remember the first night I got Borderlands, I played for over eight hours straight before I even looked at the clock less than a foot from my Xbox. But, I think both of those would probably pale in comparison to the freakish hours I’ve put in playing various versions of The Sims over the years. That stuff is unholy addicting.

What is one game that you could beat anybody in?

Beat anyone at, as in competitively? I think I could still destroy anyone in the original Mario Party 64. Now that’s serious.

Many nerds dream about dating a girl that respects their gaming habits or is a gamer herself. What are some insider tips on how a guy can land a girl gamer such as yourself?

Don’t try too hard. We like a little bit of difficulty or we wouldn’t game, lol.
