About Trishes
Employing her wide range and knack for harmonies, Trishes’ voice is the skeleton that carries her undeniably original songwriting. Fleshed out by hip-hop beats and pop hooks, her music walks the tightrope between artistry and accessibility.
A self-proclaimed songwriter at heart, Trishes has been writing and performing songs since she was a child growing up in Trinidad. After moving to the United States, Trishes honed her craft at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, where she graduated with a degree in songwriting and music business in 2011. Since then, she has been touring the US and abroad, playing showcases at Austin’s South by Southwest festival and opening for acts like Neon Hitch and K. Flay.
Her live performance is features vocal looping, percussion, and effects, which conspire to create a dynamic one-woman show. Her first full length album will be released in the spring of 2016.

Them Guns was formed in 2013 by frontman Navarone Garibaldi and keyboardist Kyle Hamood in Santa Cruz, CA. Nav met drummer Chris Hudson while attending high school in Los Angeles, who years later joined the group. Chris and bassist Chuck Holiday were the rhythm section of a previous band and the pieces all came together after the rhythm section was complete.
In April 2015, the independent film Shut Up and Drive, starring Sarah Sutherland (daughter of Kiefer), made its debut at the Tribeca Film Festival. The movie’s soundtrack features three of the band’s songs: “Close Your Eyes,” “Devil’s Eye,” and “Heard It All Before.”
This Wednesday, February 17th on SuicideGirls Radio, hosts Nicole Powers and Moxi and Bradley Suicide set sail with two bands from the upcoming Monsters of Rock Cruise: Faster Pussycat and Paradise Kitty! About Faster Pussycat
No band epitomizes Hollywood sleaze more than Faster Pussycat. Countless bands have adopted their look and demeanor in order to try and ride the Hollywood wave to success. Most fail. For those bands it’s a costume, an act. For Faster Pussycat it’s a way of life. They said it best in their own song “Sex, drugs & Rock-n-Roll” off their 2006 album The Power and the Glory Hole. However don’t be mistaken, they are much more than an image. First and foremost they are a rock & roll band that has put out consistently great records and given it all on stage, where it counts the most.
Singer Taime Downe formed the band in 1986, taking its name from the cult classic Russ Meyer film Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill! In 1987 they released their self-titled debut album which went gold. The album was loaded with sexual innuendo and bravado and struck a nerve in the glam rock community, though they were always a little more down and dirty than glam. During that time, they were interviewed and played two songs (“Cathouse” and “Bathroom Wall”) in the documentary film The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years. The documentary captured the general vibe of the Sunset Strip bands during that time period, with Faster Pussycat being featured front and center.
In 1989 they released the album Wake Me When It’s Over, which spawned the massive top 25 hit single “House of Pain” — which propelled them beyond the Sunset Strip to worldwide acclaim. They received substantial airtime on MTV for the video and toured with some of the biggest bands in history: Guns n’ Roses, David Lee Roth, Mötley Crüe, Kiss, Alice Cooper, and many more. The album went gold and to this day many hail “House of Pain” as one of the greatest power ballads of all time. The band’s line-up during this time was Taime Downe (vocals), Greg Steele (guitar), Brent Muscat (guitar), Kelly Nickels (bass), and Mark Michals (drums).
In 1992 the band released the album Whipped and toured in support of it. Following the tour the band broke up, with each member heading in separate musical directions.
Taime Downe decided to go in a more industrial rock direction working with the Chicago-based band Pigface, before relocating back to Los Angeles to form The Newlydeads, who would release three albums. Their self-titled debut, a remix album titled Re-bound, and Dead End.
In 2001 Taime Downe decided it was time to get Faster Pussycat back together to give the world another dose of the Hollywood sleaze that had all but disappeared during the grunge era. Muscat and Steele rejoined the band along with The Newlydeads core members: Xristian Simon, Danny Nordahl, and Chad Stewart.
Faster Pussycat quickly put out a collection of industrial remixes of the band’s early songs produced by Downe and played to enthusiastic crowds around the world. During this time Muscat and Steele left again.
2006 saw the band’s first full-length release in 14 years, The Power & The Glory Hole, and proved that under Taime’s leadership the band was in good hands. 2009 saw the release of a live album, Front Row for the Donkey Show. Both records were put out by Full Effect and the reviews were positive.
In 2010 guitarist Ace Von Johnson joined Faster Pussycat cementing the current line-up. The interjection of fresh blood into the band was immediately noticeable as his high energy performance rejuvenated the group and their live performances. It was like 1987 again.
Faster Pussycat is currently working on a new EP and doing what they’ve always done, touring heavily, rocking the fuck out of every venue they play, and keeping the spirit of Hollywood sleaze alive and well.
You can’t call yourself a rock & roll fan unless you have grabbed a cold one, kicked up your heels, closed your eyes and dove head first into Guns ‘N’ Roses’ masterpiece Appetite for Destruction. If you are a REAL rock fan, I can guarantee that you have done this more times than you can count and you quite possibly lost your virginity to it as well. Selling over 18 million copies, Appetite has become the soundtrack to some of the best times of our crazy lives.
Paradise Kitty is an LA based band of five girls who grew up loving Guns ‘N’ Roses. Listening alone couldn’t satiate these kittens. They decided to pay musical homage to the infamous sunset strip kings. When Pri (lead guitarist) contacted Rachael Rine (drummer) about putting together a G’N’R tribute band, they agreed they had to find the best match for each player. They needed girls who could really cop the unique swagger and feel of Axl, Slash, Duff, Izzy, and Steven. They found exactly what they were looking for in Caroline Cirone (bass) and Hisako Ozawa (guitar). With Jenna Syde (vocals) leading the helm, these kitties are ready to kick in your door, blow off your roof, start a riot, and vandalize your hearts. Welcome to the jungle of Paradise Kitty. This is your proper invitation, also consider it your official warning.

All Hail The Yeti are Connor Garritty (vocals), Nicholas Diltz (bass), Ryan “Junior” Kittlitz (drums), and Alan Stokes (guitar). Together they channel a groove that chills and captivates. ICYMI: This week’s powerful show featuring Young Vision Africa (YVA) president Alan Chorun and actress, writer, and activist Michelle Jewsburry, who does PR and fundraising for YVA, and is also working on a book and one-woman show based on her own experiences with domestic violence called “But I Love Him.” During the show we talked about the incredible work YVA do (a medical center they opened last year in Sierra Leone helped stem the spread of ebola). In the latter part of the show, we also discussed domestic violence, the reasons women stay, and what you can do to help those who are currently enduring it.

Michelle, also heavily involved in partnering with Young Vision Arica as head of Public Relations, is also a playwright and author. She has invested countless hours in crafting her memoir as well as a one woman show recounting her personal experience with domestic violence. Working diligently enhancing her craft on the stage as well as in front of the camera, Michelle has quickly become a force to be reckoned with in the entertainment industry. In addition to her accomplishments with Young Vision Africa and her stage and camera presence, Michelle has traveled to five continents as an advocate for the less fortunate, driven by her passion to make the world a better place.
Young Vision Africa’s mission is to empower young leaders in developing nations to achieve sustainable change in their communities. Their hope is to challenge those with resources to fulfill their responsibility to those without. Young Vision Africa employs Sierra Leon nationals to help execute their work and achieve their goals, also in turn, providing jobs that are so desperately needed in the area.
