**UPDATE**

An incredible evening of live music and conversation with Lili Haydn. We covered puberty, how to find your inner funk, the importance of embracing your intuition, Anita Hill and the roots of feminism, and the civil rights movement from Martin Luther King, Jr. to #BlackLivesMatter! Watch it here or via the player below.

About Lili Haydn

Referred to as the “Jimi Hendrix of the violin,” Lili Haydn astounds with her fiery and virtuosic music and vocals. A distinguished singer, songwriter, composer and violinist, Haydn has released four critically acclaimed albums as a solo artist and has collaborated with legendary artists such as Herbie Hancock, Sting, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, the LA Philharmonic, and George Clinton, to name a few.

After a successful first solo album, Lili Haydn experienced a major setback. She had just moved into her Los Angeles home when she began to notice a decline in her physical and mental health. Unaware of what caused this sudden change, Haydn spent months with various experts to figure out the cause of her illness.

Engineers discovered the presence of the pesticide Chlordane in the foundation of the house. The pesticide had spread into Haydn’s heating and air conditioning ducts, contaminating the entire house. The musician had been suffering from toxic inebriation for months and struggled to find a cure for her significant loss of brain function. She tried everything from drug detoxes to monthly sauna sessions, but nothing worked.

When she eventually regained her health, Haydn remained committed to educating the public on the positive effects of music on the brain through a series of lectures on TEDx Talks, NPR, and other speaking engagements. See one of her TedxTalk here!

Since her recovery, Haydn has scored numerous feature films and recorded her latest album, Lililand. Her most recent full-length release is an entirely improvised collaboration with composer and pianist Bill Goldstein called Evocations.

For more on Lili Haydn visit her website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube channel and catch a very special performance on Friday, November 6th at The Grand Annex in Downtown San Pedro, CA. Tickets are available here.

ICYMI: Last week’s show feat. Shana Halligan can be viewed here or via the player below.

About Shana Halligan

Back To Me is the new album from sultry songstress Shana Halligan. Smart and sexy, the 13-track album challenges pre-conceived notions of pop music, as Shana mixes her trip-hop background with downtempo, electronic-charged modern jazz. (Check out the album in its entirety here.)

“This album is about love, loss, finding my way to happiness and peace, finding strength, owning and accepting my passion, my humanness, feeling weak, and feeling strong again,” says Shana. “Eroticism, vulnerability, fear, and the deepest gratitude I can imagine. Connection, expression and art. Saying goodbye to anyone who thought I couldn’t make it and not being afraid to let go, to just be me and all that comes with it.”

During and since her time as the lead singer/songwriter of Bitter:Sweet, Shana Halligan has sold more than 500,000 records and has accumulated over 70 album credits to her name. Other releases from Shana Halligan include her solo debut EP Paper Butterfly and 2012 album Richmond Parade.

She’s also collaborated with many major acts, including writing and recording with Serj Tankian of System Of A Down and Thievery Corporation (co-writing and performing their biggest hit in recent years “Depth Of My Soul”), and has performed at several celebrated venues across the nation, including the Hollywood Bowl, the Royal Albert Hall (London), the Bowery Ballroom (NYC) and the Hotel Cafe (L.A.). Outside of her own music, Halligan also writes for other artists and is developing a TV project that combines her love for music and passion for cooking.

Next month, Shana will perform a Back To Me release show presented by KCRW at The Hotel Café in Hollywood on Thursday, November 12, marking the first time the songstress will perform the album live. Look for Shana to tour in 2016.

This Wednesday, October 14th on SuicideGirls Radio, hosts Moxi Suicide, Nicole Powers and Bradley Suicide will be joined by our fave hirsute comedian Dana Gould, and his number one Twitter stalker, author Liana Maeby.

You can listen – and watch – the world’s leading BYOB radio show live on Wednesday nights from 8 til 9 PM at our state-of-the-art all digital home: TradioV.com.

If you have questions for the SG Radio crew or our guests, you can call in during the live broadcast at: 1-855-TRV-inLA (1-855-878-4652)

**UPDATE**

Watch our show feat. Liana Maeby and Dana Gould here or in the player below.

About Liana Maeby

Liana Maeby’s accomplished debut novel, South On Highland, is a meditation on the addiction memoir. The book was initially intended to gently mock a genre the New York-born, but Los Angeles-raised author felt a deep affinity for. However, during the process of writing, Maeby soon found that the universal truths were more compelling, regardless of the comedy, tragedy, fact and fiction that conveyed them. Thus, the resulting book — which is helpfully subtitled “A Novel” for those who may be confused — very much reads like an autobiography, even though it isn’t, exactly, precisely, or at all really.

Like the novel’s protagonist Leila Massey, Maeby is an impossibly cool, witty young writer in Hollywood, with more than a dabble of experience with a variety of illicit substances. However, unlike her fictional character, Maeby’s life hasn’t imploded spectacularly after raiding a big shot executive producer’s bathroom cabinet during a potentially career-making Beverly Hills Passover soiree (yet?!?). But, in other respects, the novel does draw directly on Maeby’s experience in an entertainment capital that demands youth and experience — two qualities that are often considered to be mutually exclusive. As such, South On Highland offers brutal commentary on the sordid underbelly of a highly hypocritical industry that for the most part spits out saccharin entertainment for the masses. Read our exclusive interview with Liana Maeby on SuicideGirls.com.

South on Highland: A Novel by Liana Maeby is available via Amazon.com now!

About Dana Gould

Dana Gould is a comedian with a deep dislike of bios. He doesn’t have one on his website, nor does he have one on his Laugh Factory Page — which is erroneously entitled “DANA GOULD BIOGRAPHY” but only bears the insincere promise that there is a “Bio coming soon.” Don’t hold your breath. It’s not. The page has looked like that for almost as long as time has been recorded on the internet.

In lieu of a gushing, professionally-written bio that will assure you that Dana is both hilariously funny and enormously talented, you’ll just have to take our word for it, since he’s been on SuicideGirls Radio before and was funny as fuck! Then again, if you don’t want to take our word for it, take Liana’s; She was so impressed with his mad Twitter funnybone tickling skillz that she went through every tweet he ever wrote to compile her Top 10 Faves.

If you’re still not convinced of Dana’s ability to make you pee your pants, find out for yourself; He has a show coming up this Sunday (Oct 18th) with The Tinkle Twins, April Richardson, Steve Agee, Ali Wong, Dean Delray, and Chris Garcia at the NerdMelt Showroom in Los Angeles. Get your tickets here — incontinence guaranteed!

This Wednesday, October 7th on SuicideGirls Radio, hosts Moxi Suicide, Nicole Powers and Bradley Suicide will be joined the multi-talented singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist Stephen Bradley, who will be talking about his new EP, Runaways.

About Stephen Bradley

For 19 years Stephen Bradley has been performing and touring the world with the legendary band No Doubt. As a trumpeter, vocalist, and keyboard player, he has developed into a well rounded and skilled musician. Soaking all of these invaluable experiences over the years has led him to finally release his first solo EP. Entitled ‘Runaways,” the four-track EP was inspired by the transient and frenetic energy of Hollywood.

Recently relocating to Los Angeles from his home in the Bay Area gave Stephen the perspective of many who relocate to Southern California with dreams and aspirations of fame and fortune. ‘Runaways’ is an embodiment of the two faces of Hollywood.

Co-producing with the help of a young and talented producer/DJ Javan Slagle, the ‘Runaways’ EP is an amalgam of classic musical sensibilities and modern aesthetics. The pair met each other through a mutual acquaintance, and initially were performing in local venues along with projection artist Matt Meza. The project was initially called ‘Mr.Etienne’, and featured Stephen improvising over ‘chillstep’ styled instrumentals by various artists. The trumpet signal would be manipulated by Slagle in real time, and Meza would run the projections and lighting. The overall concept was to create a mood for everyone to enjoy, with the emphasis being on the music not the performer. Over time, the project evolved as it was decided by the group to create original music.

‘Runaways’ was born from the many nights immersed in the Hollywood party scene. By day Bradley and Slagle would be exploring different ways to capture this ‘modern’ sound they were looking for, and by night they would bear witness to the drug and alcohol-fueled nightlife. Within each song, there is a story either based or inspired by all of these hopeless nights.

About Plastic Jesus

Plastic Jesus is a Los Angeles based street artist that specializes in bold stencil and installation work, inspired by world news events, society, the urban environment, culture and politics. His work combines humor, irony, criticism and unique opinion to create art that engages on many levels.

About Padhia Avocado

“I am an artist, a writer, and a life coach, but also a flawed human with a difficult past. I share my story in hopes that I can inspire others to overcome the things that prevent ease of being. The truth is, I spent most of my life wanting to die because I didn’t understand how to live. I had no resources or skills for living an emotionally healthy life. I left home at an early age and spiraled into a deep depression that eventually consumed me. Seeking professional help, I was put on all kinds of medications. I was told to accept that my life would be about coping, yet I just never could fully accept that my fate was a lifetime of suffering.

“About six years ago, I got off all the meds and addressed everything that shaped me into the dysfunctional person I had become. I broke apart as a human in ways I could never explain. Standing there in the rubble of my life, I had only one choice… to build a new one. I use all of those experiences to help others make it to the bright side as well, as a life coach specializing in helping people find their way to freedom from darkness to a baseline state of happiness with peaks of joy.”
